The BDM is in the business of providing, and ensuring, outstanding solutions delivery to their customers and acts in the dual role of Business Development and Account Manager.
Within the Business Development portfolio, they will identify and develop leads, effectively communicate key value propositions, and convert opportunities into new business.
As the Account Manager their core priority is addressing customers’ needs and concerns as quickly and effectively as possible. As they continue to develop these relationships and gain a further understanding of their customers business goals and objectives, they will identify up-sell and cross-sell opportunities.
Time allocation is expected to be approximately 50% in Business Development and 50% in Account Management, depending on current client needs and organisational goals. 

This is a mix of hunting and farming - but frankly pure sales people are just not going to cut the mustard. We are looking for someone who has some reasonable IT knowledge in the small business arena. Someone that knows what is required from a technology and customer service point of view to keep businesses ticking along smoothly. This is a complex solutions selling role so a technical understanding of IT service delivery is required.

This is the dream position for someone who can grow and maintain profitability of existing (SLA) Service Level Agreement clients. You are not having to cold call or knock on doors, just follow up leads and keep selling their services to their happy client base. They have told us to spy out for them someone who has a very relational sales approach and a wide expanse of experience with relevant technologies. They want someone who possesses the ability to drive the business by developing relationships, hunting down new opportunities and leveraging new sales off an existing client base.

The Transparency candidate will have exposure to or experience with the following stuff:

  • Identifying and qualifying new sales leads
  • Managing new sales process
  • A proven record in developing and executing your own sales plan
  • Demonstrable success in solution sales
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Strong relational selling skills
  • The ability to generate your own proposals
  • Honed communication skills in English-written and verbal
  • Some previous technical account management or related experience
  • Experience in outsourced IT management
