This one's for the true technicians. The master networking craftsman that loves to do things properly and at an enterprise level. It'll appeal if you're technically smart, like to be hands on with complex networks and prefer projects to admin or support. It's a consulting and implementation role for networking projects. Maybe you want to be more specialised on networks and infrastructure, and you want to be working on larger environments, bigger toys. Keep reading :)
The role is for an IT company based in the southern suburbs, where you'll be able to design and deliver your own networking projects to enterprise clients. Most projects you'll work on fairly autonomously but there are other network architects around to support you. Given this you'll need to be good around a client's boardroom table and easily explain the merits of a particular networking solution. It's not a pure pre-sales role, but it will involve explaining your solution to the client and implementing it as well. Each project is likely to take weeks or a few months from start to end. You won't get bogged down on one project or one environment for years on end.

This company punches well above their weight and is a go to provider for IT projects across networking, cloud, security and infrastructure for mid tier and government clients. It's an IT company with a technical leader who is so passionate about technology you're bound to love him and spend hours nerding out with him on the merits of various solution options for end clients. Their clients are enterprises and government departments in various verticals and the solutions are always innovative and professional which adds to their reputation. They also do mining camp installations and all the gear that goes along with supplying communications in remote places.
The engineer we're looking for is someone who'll fit in well to the technical culture of the place. You don't have to be a real senior architect level IT projects person right now (although that would be ideal), as you will be well mentored along the way, you will have to be able to let your passion for networks and infrastructure shine through though. You'll be a good communicator and someone that can work face to face with clients. While personality is important, it's technical passion that will see you fly through the interview with my client. Ultimately we're looking for someone who can do end to end network design and delivery at the mid tier to enterprise level for LANs and WANs, including carrier grade routing and switching. If you're not at that level yet then they'll get you there if you prove you have the potential.
We've placed plenty of people at this company and they love it and stay for a long time. The culture is based around flexibility and trust. You do your own projects and grow your skills accordingly. Once you're delivering and comfortable you have the flexibility to work from home while you manage your own time and your own projects. They don't do micro management here. There's no better way to grow your technical skills than delivering your own projects with support from other architects.
So if you're ready for a new challenge, you've got great networking skills and a strong desire to learn more. Then I'd love to speak with you, apply now and we'll have a face to face or video chat and take things from there.
