If you are looking for a stable work environment with well worn policies and procedures where your role is to keep things running smoothly, make sure people do what they're meant to do, run the CAB meetings and fill out the documentation and make sure it goes where it needs to go.... then *snore* this role isn't for you.
Yes, you're a Change Manager and you'll be running CAB meetings.
Yes, there's a degree of paperwork to your role and procedures need to be followed... but this role is so much more than that.
You will be joining a company that punches well above it's weight when it comes to the size of the clients they look after. They're growing and signing up larger clients and with that comes a new level of structure and process which isn't yet implemented. That's where you come in. We are looking for a real leader with a passion around Change Management in the infrastructure space. Someone that knows risk and governance and can work with the technical people and the clients to manage the risk with each change. You'll need to be someone that isn't going to get overwhelmed with managing the change environment and communication piece across multiple external clients and multiple internal departments inside the MSP.
Heading up the Change practice and working with the Service and Projects departments this role is about bringing change leadership and a culture of best practice around risk management to a growing Managed Service Provider. You'll be working with mining and large enterprise clients on a daily basis on behalf of the MSP using ITIL delivery assurance principles.
What's the critical skill we're looking for?
Best practice knowledge in Change Management and genuine Leadership qualities to drive that knowledge throughout an organisation.
What's the other stuff you need?
Excellent interpersonal skills, you'll be communicating at a CIO and IT Manager level as well as with techs
A technical background would be very helpful, maybe having worked in IT support or infrastructure early in your career.
The desire to see and help a business grow, through building the right platforms for growth first.
Be able to be a coach and mentor to service management personnel
Be process centric, help create, run and improve them
Show you can influence and negotiate - build and collaborate across virtual teams
Manage risk, impact and communication in the Change function
Perhaps you haven't actually done Change Management before per se or held the title but you have the passion and best practice knowledge around it from your own involvement in other IT management roles and your own research.
